A visit to Livingstone Island is no ordinary outing. Open 11 to 12 months of the year, it’s an immersive experience that takes you right to the edge of Victoria Falls, with swimming in Devil’s Pool and Angel’s Pool available seasonally depending on water levels. Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

The
launch site

Your journey begins at the Livingstone Island Launch Site, located near the Royal Livingstone Hotel. Before your trip, you'll receive a comprehensive safety briefing from our experienced guides. All necessary safety equipment is provided and must be worn during the experience.

While you wait for your departure, enjoy a refreshing drink or light snack at the on-site bar, or browse a small selection of refreshments available for purchase. Clean restroom facilities are also available for your convenience.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

Non-slip waterproof water shoes are available for hire at the Livingstone Island Launch Site for guests who prefer additional grip and comfort while walking on the island.

when to arrive

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure at the Livingstone Island Launch Site, located 1.3 km from the Royal Livingstone Hotel’s main entrance.

accessing the island

All guests travel to the island by boat (jet boats or speedboats depending on the water level). From 1 September to late December, walking tours across the exposed Falls may be available for small groups. Walking tours in August cannot be guaranteed as they depend on water levels.

A shuttle is available for guests staying within 6 km of Victoria Falls Town:
